First day of Diving

Day 1, complete.

We went straight to the ocean. I could see why once I arrived. The water was glassier than a pool. It was warmer, and clearer too. It was amazing.

After spending more than an hour going over the details of the equipment and procedures, we finally lumbered down the short beach and into the ocean, fully kitted up. The experience was so much better than I remembered. I wished that I’d had my camera, but knew that I would get to use it the following day. The fish were incredible, even in the shallow spots where we dove. Our max depth was 6 meters (nearly 20 feet!?) and everything was great except for a few moments where my ears wouldn’t clear. We came up a bit and then I had no problem clearing them. Even my diving app on the Garmin worked flawlessly. I’m really excited to head down again on my second dive, where we’ll be heading down to a depth of 12 meters, I’ve been told. That’s amazing!
