I’m choking back sobs as I read this book. I’m in the midst of her trip to Italy, and she’s just arrived in Sicily after an amazing dinner with friends for a birthday/thanksgiving. She sits down and orders “whatever is the best” and proceeds to eat the best meal she’s had yet. I can feel the emotion and love here. I want it too. I cannot wait to be back in Italy and to really live there for a time. I want to be there; to absorb the language, the culture, the love. I want to fall in love there. I want to be reckless there. I want to live there.
I will. Perhaps it will be this fall after Burning Man, and before I head to India in December. What better place to be for Christmas time than Rome? Wow, that would be special, even being a Jew in the heart of Catholicism.
I also need to practice my Spanish for my trip to Ibiza in the Spring. Ah, I’m loving how this journey is going! I’m still frolicking in my mind to the sounds of Richard’s playlist from Burning Man. It’s been the soundtrack to my life for these last 8 months. A mixture of love and music and the sparks of the playa along with me through each step of the way. It’s brought me happiness, and it’s brought the same to all those I’ve shared it with. So much love. So much warmth. So much enjoyment.
