I’m sitting on a train riding from Osaka to Kobe for lunch. Seems kinda funny to be traipsing around the countryside for a meal, but this is the home of Kobe beef. I had it once in San Francisco with Adrian, and it was mind blowing. I can’t even begin to imagine what this will be like. I’m super excited, and have only 1.5hrs left before the meal.

As it goes, I was unable to book another night at my hostel in Osaka, so I’ve had to book a place in Kobe for the night. Then I’m headed back to Tokyo tomorrow for a few days before returning to California in the first time in 8 months.
After being vegetarian for almost 2 months, being here in Japan has been a definite departure from my that way of life. Even now, as I head in for a huge steak meal, I’m looking forward to being back on a mostly vegetable diet. I feel heavier and greasier somehow. My stomach has also not quite been the same. I’ve also been missing my daily yoga and meditation. I will bring that back as it was an essential part of my well being. Still, before every meal I’m stopping to say thank you, which feeds the positive vibes. Especially during this time when I’m eating meat, saying an extra thank you to the animal and for the goodness, health, and energy it’s bringing to me.
